Oh god.

So for my birthday I got the new MacBook Pro from my parents and I got all excited to put it to good use and filmed a video. And I have no idea how to work the freaking iMovie. Talk about a Microsoft user trying to use Mac the first time. Epic fail. It's just like a tennis player trying badminton. It may seem the same, but it's not. Really.

#prayforkuantan

Last night before I went to bed, I was thinking about the conversation I had with Yvonne and Dayah, about if only we could do something about the victims in Kuantan.
That's kind of true right? We Malaysians if other countries were to hit by a natural disasters we would all be like
#prayforthephilippines
#prayfortahiti
#prayforoklahoma

even MTV VJ Hanli Instagrammed a post on it.
At first I was lazy because Dayah has shoot today, so I'll be alone, but then when I woke up at 11.30 (pretty late I know) I had strong feeling to go, but I didnt dream of anything weird that night pun. So I got up, showered and took my mum's tasbih that she makes.

Mak I memang rajin buat bende bende macam ni, buat tasbih, buat brooch la ni la tu la. kadang kadang dia ambik order jugak. yang i jual tu dia punya order la I ambik tapi haha dia kata takpe dia akan buat lagi. thanks mom :)

I actually like this Labels Bazaar, Diyana has been promoting it for the longest time, but I never make it, just cause I know if I go to any bazaar like these, I would end up shopping.

Alhamdulillah, first day I managed to collect more than RM100, best part was there was a white that bought one! what he's gona do with it Im not too sure.
told you! I ended up shopping. but using my money, not the donation money hehe
I've heard so much about this miracle dust, and it just so happen sold by the booth right opposite of ours. So I went on and buy one. The orange skirt is from Sluoandskeq by Wirda, I was going through the items and Wirda went like "I know you....you're the girl from 3R right?" hehehe and she went "I wana sponsor you guys!!!"
So I picked three items for the 3 of us. I could've just took the orange skirt for free but my initial intention was to buy it anyways, so I paid for it. Support our locals :)

Thank you so much for those that have donated, may Allah bless all of you, Insyaallah.

Typhoon Yolanda, Haiyan Typhoon

Hi everyone,
Its been almost a year since I last write. What really inspired to blog again is that a lot has been happening in my life this year alone, and initially I just didn't bother sharing them but after experiencing the Yolanda Typhoon chaos, I just thought I write my two cents.

Boracay is one of those places I have to visit before I die, and boy was I beyond excited when Zeb asked me earlier in January whether I want to tag along with him on his trip there with his friends. Errr, yes please!

Fast forward day 2 in Boracay
"there is a super typhoon coming on Friday"
We were scheduled to leave Boracay for Manila on Thursday, so no worry there, we will be safe because Manila is safe.
When we were leaving the island apparently all the locals were trying to leave the island aswell. When I say locals, a whole lot of locals. A whole lot of human, a combination of locals and foreigners.
The situation was so strange that I just had to ask one of the local is the amount of people at the jetty is the norm and they said "No maam, this is just everyone trying to leave the island before the typhoon comes"
It was so chaotic that I can hear foreigners one by one saying "I have a flight at 9am" "I have a flight at 11am" "I am going to miss my flight"

and yes, I myself was going to miss my flight to Manila as well.
The que was sooooo long, I can't even begin to describe it. Wait, there was no such thing as a que. It was people to people, body to body, side by side, against each other's body, pushing, shoving, trying to get pass the gate in order to catch the ferry to Caticlan.
The thing is, if you are stranded on the island, you are safe (there was no reported death on Boracay island), however, you will be stranded on the island for days, because the airport will be closed and ferry services will be stopped for sometime. So either you leave today, or stay for another 3-4 days. Imagine no form of electricity on the island and no food coming into the island during the period. Logistics wise, you are pretty much stuck.
That's what happened in Tacloban. Survivors were desperate for food and clean water because in the beginning there was no access to the places that the survivors were starting to go, well, literally, crazy.

My bubble head shows where I was at the time, Thursday at Boracay, en route to the Black star, airport in Kalibo.

So, after 6 hours being in the que, all of us got out of Boracay and safely to Caticlan, by then it was already 330 pm, and our flight from Kalibo-Manila was at 3pm. At the time I didnt care how much was the last flight out, I just wanted to get out of the Panay region, because the typhoon is going to hit it. Lucky for us that we decided to spend more on the late night flight which costed us double from the 6 am flight, because turns out, all flights the next day was cancelled. That's right, lucky.

Although we didn't experience the typhoon first hand, but we did had to go through the 'pre-typhoon arrival' stage, and was it scary and chaotic. I feel that we Malaysian are truly blessed to be free from any kind of natural disasters, really, not only that it is fatal, but the damages it causes leaves a mark that is eternal. You may have survived it, but you probably lost your loved ones. Your family may have survived it but you saw a mass of dead bodies along the road. How do you live with that?

My prayers goes out to those affected by the Yolanda Haiyan typhoon. May God bless all of you. Xo

Ni Hao Taipei

I was flew to Taipei for a commercial shoot last week
This I can say is my first official work trip overseas.
Arrived in chilly Taipei on Friday, went straight to rehersal/hair make up test at the production house.
Where I stayed is at an area called Zhongsan which means "Big and Straight"
imagine walking into a cab saying
"Ni hao take me to big and staright please. make it fast"
LOL
nobody speaks english in Taipei bytheway
anyhow, Zhongsan is like the equivalent of Mont Kiara, the area is not down town but is pretty near to the city with a cozy malls and apartments everywhere. and the Eye of Taipei is located here aswell.
I loved the studio apartment where I was staying-a little too big for me but was just perfect
iStaytion Rome Holidays
So on Saturday I had my day off since it was the Phillippine's and Thailand's turn to shoot the commercial first, it was raining though so I jlazing in my room until about 3pm, then I was like omg I better go out and explore the city the rain doesnt seem like it want to stop. So I got ready and head out with my 'father'
We just went to Taipei101, the building is the second highest building in the world after Burj Khalifa, before KLCC.
Inside Taipei101:
Taipei 101 is similar to KLCC with a shopping mall at the bottom of it. what I dont like about it its ALL high end shopping. like for example, klcc at least has medium priced shops like havaianas, paul frank, quiksilver but taipei101....its all gucci fendi prada.
Whats funny is that its so difficult to find halal food here in Taiwan, so I normally would just order some seafood or veggies. you really cant avoid restaurants with food so what I do is is tutup sebelah mata je la eyh.
But Mahmud is SO particular with pork, like he wont eat at places that serves pork-which is very good I must say....so what we did was we spent hours at the bottom floor supermarket(similar to Mercato) to shop for food stuff. mentang mentang bilik ada dapur kan
how lame I ended buying fiji water, blueberries, yogurt and belgium chocolates in hello kitty can because its cute
Which I used to make my own breakfast the next morning in my mini kitchen
okay fast forward
Shihlin Street shopping!
To all you allls that love chinese/taiwanese street snacking, this is the place for you and be sure to come with an empty stomach!
Shihlin street is a night market and its big and scary so be prepared to enter and go out at two different exits. The whole place is filled with all sorts of food stalls and shops
 Yummy succulent fresh fruit
But for 3 cuts of the fruits of your choices costs 100 Dollar=RM10.50 PFFT kene tipu
And of course who goes to Taiwan without trying any of the authentic bubble tea?
After all Chatime came from the land as well :)
YUM
And to all the Muslim out there if you are looking for the closest to halal food, this is what me and Mahmud ate. I wont say its halal, since Im pretty sure they use the same utensil to cook pork at their homes, but umm their stall only sold seafood and veggies so......we makan there. I can tell you we had a few plate of those because we were hungry from all the food searching the whole day
 Sotong and veggies
$100
Fire baked oyster
$100 for 3
Deep fried sotong
$100
Two different outfts at the same exact spot shows that I came back the
second time around for the yummy food ;)
SHOPPING
Is it cheap? Not so....I must say it was pretty pricey when I was there like 199-390 dollars for a pair of shoes(=RM20-45) and clothes are pretty pricey but I think that is cause its fall season hence me not buying any clothing item
okay I lied the shopping pretty awesome
I went to Taipei with 5 shoes came back with 12 pair of shoes and 5 bags. ehem. lol
Other areas to shop
Xiemen
Similar to Japan's Shibuya but much much much lower priced shops
haha
On the day I was leaving it was warm and sunny it was perfect to go for a walk
which is exactly what I did, got up, dressed, packed and head out for breakfast
$105(RM11.50) for grande vanilla latte and Egg Avacado sandwich
not too bad la right?
am blessed.
thank you Taipei
xoxo
